a good fit
I've worn Saucony Hurricanes for years, and I used to be about 20 pounds heavier when running. At that stage, I got blisters in any shoe, after five or six miles, so I just adapted by relying on moleskin and other fixes. Now, 20 pounds lighter, I'm running again, and this shoe works. I don't have blisters after 12 miles (the furthest I've done for an upcoming half marathon), and I think that's the weight, not the shoe, but I read reviews before buying the hurricane again, and runners considered it much improved. It does have a tight heel. I feel my heel, in other words, and it interacts a bit (when I first start) with my sock in a way that I notice, but after a while, it seems fine. Each time I put the shoes on again, I feel that same tightness, and I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing--I'm wearing a medium. I'm also wearing an incredibly thin and very comfortable sock by thorlo that may also be playing a good role in the no blister game. I'm going with a five star...

Awesome, consistent shoe for Saucony lovers and other over-pronaters
This is the fourth pair of Saucony Hurricane's that I've owned -- I had version 7, 9, 11 and now 12! I first purchased them at a running store when they evaluated my walk and said that I over-pronate (my feet collapse inwards when I walk, creating stress on my knees and hip joints). The Hurricanes offer maximum stability and support for people like me, and they (along with custom orthotics) have helped me through a two-year long recovery from knee surgery after a sports injury. The Hurricanes fit me well because I have a triangle shaped foot -- wide toe spread with a narrow heel. Most shoes are too tight in the toes and too loose in the heel -- case in point, the Asics Gel Resolution for tennis, which I really wanted to love because tennis is now my main sport and they were highly reviewed! Unfortunately, they just didn't fit. In contrast, for my foot, the Hurricanes are absolutely perfect, and also true to size (I wear a 7 and buy a 7 1/2 to allow space for my...

a step backwards in a great line
The Hurricane Wide has been my shoe for years and I'm sad that the fit in this model is not so good. Previous models had just enough room in the toes and a good snug fit in the heel, but something bad has happened and now the heel is a weird puffy cushion kind of thing that slips on the uphill. I can't wear the next size down without squeezing my toes. Why do shoe manufacturers always mess with a good thing?

A little nervous at first
I'm not super picky about running shoes but I wanted to try this "mid foot running" shoe. After my first 3 mile run or so my second toe on my right foot hurt so badly I couldn't wear the shoes for 2-3 days. However, I have not had any problems in following runs and no longer have the pain. Not sure what was going on but I'm glad it worked out because the shoes are comfortable otherwise.

Lite as a feather - Yet just enough cushion
Wow!!! Is the best way to describe these shoes! First off - I run typically run about 20-25 miles a week JFYI. They feel as if your wearing cloud shoes-light and fluffy! Although the heel-to-toe drop is minimal, the shoes still has a very supportive arch. If you are even in question about these shoes - look them up. I spent hours and these things have been tried and true with marathon runners with no complaints other then the tread wears out faster then some other shoes. But I can't complain-I would rather need to buy new shoes more often then run in concrete slabs!I am a newbie marathon runner and I have had a pair of Nike's and New Balances before this. The Nike's were ok, but the ball of my foot would start to hurt towards 4+ miles. My New Balances were... HORRIBLE! I bought them off line and did not research them enough. The heel was HUGE (like running in high heels) and they were heavy (like 14+ oz each!)with no flex! None the less, I started having knee and arch issue...

Saucony you rock!
For the past 3 years I have been trying to get back into my running. Stopped for several years, then picked it back up again in 2008. Ran myself promptly into stress fractures. Twice. Now that I have finally figured out how to train right now that I am older, I invested a lot in orthotics and stability shoes. No more. I believe in the philosophy of strengthening those muscles/tendons that cause pronation, which I had quite severely a few years back. I have eliminated all of my pronation and shin (stress fracture issues) by strength training including balance and core work (with a great trainer!). However, as I graduated out of my orthotics to just my Asics Kayanos and then Brooks Adrenalines without any insoles other than the stock shoe ones, I felt the shoes were too heavy and just too much shoe. I was interested in taking away all that fluff and support and having my feet and lower legs do what they were supposed to. So I looked at more minimalist shoes. No more cheating with...

I LOVE these shoes!
I was a little skeptical of the other reviewers who claimed their run times were cut so drastically after running with these shoes, but the reviews are accurate! I have never been a super fast runner; I run 3 miles a few times a week. But after trying these shoes, I shaved FOUR minutes off of my 5 mile run! I couldn't believe it! These shoes are very comfortable and light. The mesh on the top lets the breeze go through keeping your feet cool and preventing odors and lots of foot sweat. The only warning I would say for the people who are purchasing online is that these shoes do run about 1/2 a size small. I have never worn a size 11 women's in my life- until I bought these shoes. I usually buy a women's 10 or a men's 8.5 since those are slightly bigger than a women's 10. But other than that, these shoes are a no-brainer to purchase! I cannot be happier with my new running shoes!!!

great running shoes
first say that the Amazon service was incredible, send this package to the Christmas season in two days is really impressive. The package and its contents arrive in perfect condition. Now go into the question, shoes are very comfortable, good arch support, compared to other shoes of this brand forefoot area felt a bit tight, but nothing out of the ordinary in a new shoe. I ran with them about 9 miles and are great I can not imagine when they are more adjusted to my feet, maybe 30 miles more write a new update. In short if you are an athlete of normal weight, with medium or high arched feet, with mild/moderate pronation problems this can be an excellent training shoe.04-28_2012My second pair and again I give opinion on this excellent shoe, one of the better purchases I've made, well cushioned without being soft, built to last, I recommend that if someone wants to buy and ask for the extra width that are a bit narrow in the forefoot...

Awesome shoes for pronaters
I think these shoes are constructed beautifully for moderate pronation with feet that present flat when standing but while sitting feet appear to have an arch. The arch lock works very well with the dual soles and makes it even better of a shoe. I used to own Omni's previous to this purchase and the support just wasn't there arch wise. Love these shoes. Only one complaint....The tongue does not stay in its spot. I have to fix it after a work out or running. I rotates out and that may be due to my pronation but unsure at this time.

Perfect for pronators
Having the unfortunate combination of a poorly constructed skeletal arrangement and an intense love of triple jump and hurdling, I did a serious number on my joints before being professionally placed in these shoes (originally the hurricane 7) when I was 15. Six years later, this shoe series has remained the best solution to my joint devouring severe pronation. I live in these shoes and can scarecely tolerate any other form of footware due to the damage I sustained in my knees and hips before I met with corrective footware. These shoes are very inflexible and almost intolerably heavy for most avid runners, but the support they provide is proportionally formidable so if you aren't in need of the highest level of correction, you may want to go with somthing a little less clunky.

Saucony Women's Hurricane 13 running shoes.
Very happy with purchase. I don't run but I buy running shoes for walking and working out because a salesperson said that running shoes are lighter. Was a little worried about ordering online but because I already have a Hurricane XI, took a chance and am happy. I bought a size M and it fits snug but I prefer shoes that are a little snug than loose so this works for me. It's very light; wore the XI on a trip to the Rockies for 13 days and no problem. Hope thisl XIII works out well on an upcoming trip also. The XIII feels a little bulkier, but not sure if its because its new. Bought the XI from a running shoe store locally and paid almost twice the amount a year and a half ago. Can't go wrong with the price on Amazon.

Nice fit, cushion, support, great for the everyday runner.
First of all, I am average in every sense of the word. I'm no star athlete, not really overweight, I just decided that my twenties aren't a good time for me to be out of shape. Upon this realization, I recently started jogging everyday, and after running about 2 miles a day for the first week in my old shoes, my shins and knees would KILL me, so much that it made me feel discouraged and I stopped running. Then, one day with a swift breeze of inspiration, I decided that hey, maybe a new pair of shoes could turn things around for me. I did a TON of research on running shoes, because I'm really cheap and if I'm spending a decent amount of money on something like running shoes I'm going to make sure they're exactly right. I saw these and based on the positive reviews I purchased them with next day shipping and alas, here they are! First off, with the pink they are really cute (not that that matters but hey, the little things make you feel cute when you're sweating like a pig.) Once I put...

Consistently a good product: Cushioning, Quality, and Just Enough Stability
I've been running for (gasp) about 20 years now, and I've gone back and forth between Asics and Saucony. However, as my feet have changed over years of torture (my feet hurt more than anything any given day...running distance...heels...super-flat shoes; it's done a number), I've been leaning heavily to Saucony. The last 5 years or so, it's been only Saucony. The ProGrid Ride has become my go-to. Partly because it's in the price point I'm comfortable with (I've run in grid hurricanes before and gel kayano; these are just as good) and partly because it's a consistent product. I've come to rely on the quality and the company's ability to improve upon the product each year. For example, in the 1st generation, I noticed that my toe broke through the mesh in the top of the shoe over time. In the ProGrid ride 2, this was made better; the silver portion by the toe came around further. By this generation, they have reinforced the toe at that area. For them to correct a...

Fixed My Sore Hips
I've been jogging for many years. Recently, I began to experience hip joint problems. It seemed that my hips became quite sore whenever I ran. At first I attributed this to growing older. I was wondering if I would have to give up one of my favorite activities. Eventually (I don't know why it took me so long) I realized that I just needed to buy a new pair of running shoes! Anyway, after doing a lot of research, I decided to buy the Saucony Ride 3 running shoes. What a great investment that was! I've been jogging in these shoes for several months now. 4 days a week for about 30 minutes each time out. I also did a 10-K run in September. The shoes feel light and very comfortable. No feet-dragging. Never any blisters to speak of. Most importantly, my hip problems are GONE! So yes, I would highly recommend these shoes (at least, to women with the same feet and activity level as me).
